NEW COURSES SET IN SCENIC HIGHLANDS AND VALLEYS

FIRMLY ESTABLISHED as a leading golf course construction company MJ Abbott offers clients a fully turnkey service. Successfully carrying out large and smaller individual projects nationwide the objective is always to pay attention to detail.

Current projects include construction works at The Carrick on Loch Lomond set in the stunning Scottish countryside. Here it is vital to ensure there is a natural-look flowing from the banks of the loch through the new course and into the scenic backdrop of the hills.
“The company really are trying to retain as much of the natural landscape as they possibly can and are working with great care,” says Alec Glachan, Golf Courses and Estates Manager.

At the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales preparations are well underway for the Ryder Cup 2010 with the construction of nine new holes. The company is responsible for course construction including drainage, irrigation, the profile of the greens, tees, together with seedbed preparation and seeding on the new development.
“As the job has progressed MJ Abbott has proved they can be very flexible,” says Jim McKenzie, Director of Estates Management and Ryder Cup Courses Development.
“They have undertaken extra work when it was more practicable as their machines were on site.
“They brought experience and the flexibility which many contractors are not prepared to undertake.
“This makes a dramatic difference when building a golf course as no two days are the same.”
