HAT-TRICK FOR WHITE HORSE CONTRACTORS

White Horse Contractors (Northern) Ltd have netted a hat-trick with the successful securing of contracts with Leeds United, Middlesborough and Burnley Football Clubs.

Leeds United’s Elland Road pitch is undergoing extensive close season renovation works, utilising the latest technologies in the natural sports turf industry. The pitch will be regarded as a key element in the drive next season to return to the highest echelon of English football. The current renovation and construction works to the pitch will create a superb playing surface that will complement the fast-flowing style of football that is synonymous with Leeds United. In addition to the stadium pitch, White Horse Contractors (Northern) are renovating and upgrading the Thorp Arch training ground pitches, further complementing the high quality facilities that have contributed to the clubs’ success this season.

Middlesbrough FC have employed White Horse Contractors (Northern) Ltd to undertake pitch renovation works at the famous Riverside Stadium. This season’s fantastic performances by Middlesbrough in the UEFA cup has increased the number of matches on the pitch and the close season is the only opportunity to undertake vital renovation works. The completed pitch will boast additional strength by utilising fibre reinforced root zone construction, revamped irrigation system and under-pitch heating, all contributing to enhanced pitch performance characteristics for longer periods.

Turf Moor, home of Burnley Football Club is currently having its famous pitch renovated. The second oldest football ground in the Football League opened it’s turnstiles in 1883 and has been the home of this proud Lancashire club ever since. Along with the renovations to the playing surface, Burnley FC has employed the in-house artificial turf expertise of White Horse Contractors to design and install artificial turf run-offs to all sides of the pitch. The Desso Match PS 50 3rd Generation turf is being installed to the perimeter of the pitch to offer a consistent surface for the referee’s assistants and the warm up areas for substitutes. This type of 3G installation is becoming popular practice for grounds staff of stadia where tall stands limit the growth potential in the peripheral areas of the natural turf. White Horse Contractors (Northern) also undertook renovation works to the 1st team training facilities at the Gawthorpe Training ground.

With Offices in Oxford and Thirsk, White Horse Contractors offer proven natural and artificial sports turf solutions, nationwide, to clients from both the private and public sector.
