A big thankyou to Mastenbroek and their team for rounding off 2010 by hosting a brilliant LDCA
Members Day for us at their base in Boston.
The day started with a useful members meeting where each member gave a summary of their
experiences over the past year which, given the economic climate, revealed a perhaps
surprisingly positive outcome for most people. Though this was not true for everybody and though
there were inevitably some reservations about the next 12 months, the general view of members
on the outlook for the coming year was also not as pessimistic as might be expected. If the higher
than usual level of enquiries reported by members was anything to go by there appears to be a
lot of work being planned in 2011.

‘So far so good’ about summed up the mood.
We then had an excellent presentation from Fred Clarke with an interactive demonstration of the
capabilities of GPS mapping in drainage design and installation which is rapidly developing into a
very impressive system.
Guided tours of the factory and design office to see machines under construction rounded off an
interesting and enjoyable day for members.
